On February 27, 1931 Chandra Shekar Azad met two of his comrades at Alfred Park in Allahabad. He was betrayed by an informer to British Police. So he was surrounded by British Police.
27 फरवरी, 1931 को चन्द्रशेखर आजाद इलाहाबाद के अल्फ्रेड पार्क में अपने दो साथियों से मिले। किसी एक मुखबिर ने ब्रिटिश पुलिस को सूचना देकर उनके साथ विश्वासघात कर दिया। अतः वह ब्रिटिश पुलिस द्वारा घेर लिये गये।

Answer:
Once he was surrounded by police in a park. He didn’t surrender but shot himself. Thus he proved his name Azad by not being caught alive.
एक बार पुलिस ने एक पार्क में उन्हें घेर लिया था। उन्होंने समर्पण नहीं किया, पर स्वयं को गोली मार ली। इस तरह उन्होंने जिन्दा न पकड़े जाने से अपना नाम आजाद सिद्ध कर दिया।

Answer:
Chandra Shekhar was born in village Bhabra in Jhåbua district. For higher education he went to Sanskrit Pathshala at Varanasi. As a revolutionary, he adopted the surname ‘Azad’. He was deeply hurt by the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar in 1919. A special award will be presented at Balidan Diwas.
