Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi
- Mahatma Gandhi or Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi or ‘Bapu’ was a great leader who fought for India’s independence against the British rule.
- He practised non-violence or ahimsa to get freedom and opposed violence.
- He always spoke truth and led a very simple life.
- He always wore Khadi which he spun himself using Charkha.
- He hated untouchability and worked for the upliftment of Harijans and unprivileged.
Sarojini Naidu
- Sarojini Naidu was the first Indian woman President of Indian National Congress, 1925.
- She also led the Salt Satyagrah Movement in 1930 with Gandhiji.
- She was also a great poetess and wrote in English.
- She was known as the ‘nightingale of India’.
- She became the first woman Governor of an Indian state (U.P.), in free India.

Answer:
Maharani Laxmi Bai was the queen of Jhansi. She was brave, courageous and bold from her early childhood. She was skilled in horse riding, shooting, wrestling and all the martial arts and continued to practise them even after her marriage with Gangadhar Rao, the king of Jhansi.
When Britishers declared to merge Jhansi with British empire, after her husband’s death, she opposed it and bravely fought against them not thinking that she was a woman. She was a great patriot. She tied her son to her back and led her army against the British. She fought courageously till her last breath and did not let any Britisher touch her living or dead.
